Sports Marketing .ie has recently highlighted, the GAA changing their ticket plan and the improvement in attendances that the GAA have achieved this year. However, with the recent declaration that the GPA grants will not be provided by the government it will be very interesting to see what happens:
The GAA has said it is ‘disappointed’ players will not participate in media events surrounding the Munster hurling and Leinster football finals due to a dispute between the GAA and the GPA.
The players have said they will not co-operate with broadcast media due to the GAA’s continuing unwillingness to officially recognise the Gaelic Players’ Association.
The matches are due to take place on Sunday, 12 July and the current position is that players will not co-operate with broadcast media in protest at the GAA’s stance.
The finalists are Dublin and Kilkenny (Leinster hurling) and Cork and Limerick (Munster football).
The GAA is to give a fuller briefing on the matter next week.
